Being the fourth set of the winter Olympic Games a new set of games were introduced, Alpine skiing. Norway again came out on top with the amount of medals won being a total of 15, 7 of which being gold. The U.S were on a comedown from the winning of 6 gold medals at the 1932 Winter Olympic games, this time winning just one. On the German Olympic team there was only one Jewish man, Rudi Ball, who was there only to settle the dispute of the Nazi regime.
