In September 2008, Pavlyuchenko signed for Tottenham Hotspur for a fee of £13.7 million following Berbatov’s move to United. In four seasons at the Lane, the Russian managed to play just 78 games for Spurs, scoring just 21 times. Reports claimed that Pavlyuchenko had been involved in a training ground bust-up with Spurs coach Kevin Bond which led him to leaving the club in the January transfer window in 2012, despite having a better goal per minute ration that both Defoe and Keane. What a waste!
